HOW To BUILD the RPM METER

For a good start you need the electric-scheme and so ..... here it is:

I don't have realized a PCB for this scheme due I realized all it on a hand-wired board, but if you want to do that I say it is very simple

The little hard thing to realize is the interface-side of this project, I have made this:

This is the actual RPM meter of my CBR

The backGround is made by black-plastic material, the foreground is simple white paper laser-printed, between the background and the foreground there are a red filter, usefull to avoid sun rays to reflect over the LEDs and even to improve the contrast of the lights, over all I pressed a transparent film to shield the paper from rain

The RED Leds are incapsulated inside the black-plastic, so they cannot stick out from the surface, their terminals are connected to the wires in the rear side

However I put here the quoted sheet of that picture made with DeltaCad Software by MidNight Software inc. , it is a shareware software and you should easily found it on the NET !
Click Here to get the DeltaCad Drawing

This project is expressed designed to fit on the CBR 900 RR '97 and oldest ones, but I think that anyone like to build an own designed interface, and however you must do it if you don't have a CBR ! :-)

And finally you will find here the program (in INTEL HEX format) to put inside Intel 87c51 microprocessor to let your project work !
